Obituary for Cynthia Lynn Prather

Cynthia Lynn Prather, 57, of Zeigler, passed away 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Herrin Hospital in Herrin.

Cynthia formerly worked as a clerk at Sonoco Gas Station and as a cook for the Herrin Hospital and Mattingly Nursing Home in Herrin.

Cynthia was born July 4, 1960 in Herrin, IL to Ralph and Dorothy Lucille (Young) Prather.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Teera Prather of Zeigler; her longtime companion of 22 years, Kenneth “Tink” Fann of Zeigler; six grandchildren, Laura Schram, Brandon Schram, Rylie Prather, Bryson Schram, Olivia Prather, Isabella Prather; brother, Larry Colson of Herrin; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ramona Wallin of Herrin, Tammy and Allen Whitecotton of West Frankfort; nephew, and his wife, Brian and Kelly Whitecotton of West Frankfort; aunt, Juanita Schoolcraft of Carbondale; many friends too numerous to name and her canine companions, Willow and Raven.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Erica Schram and her parents.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Meredith Waddell Funeral Home. Interment will be in Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin.
