Obituary for John Edward Hendricks

John Edward Hendricks, 77, of Herrin, passed away December 16, 2017 at his home in Herrin.
John attended the Air Force Academy after high school. He left the academy and went to St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He was the owner of Cline-Vick drug store in Marion and later worked for CVS and several other pharmacies.
John was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Herrin. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge.
John was born April 3, 1940 to Arthur and Margaret (Cline) Hendricks in Washington, D.C.
John is survived by his five children; David Hendricks and his wife Debra of Huntsville, AL, Barbara Stoecklin of Marion, Lynn Hill and her husband John of Marion, Jonathan Hendricks of Phoenix, AZ, and Brittney Hendricks and her husband Lee Howard of Tempe, AZ; eight grandchildren, Aaron Hendricks and wife Jennifer, Kourtney Brownlow and husband Daniel, Ryan Stoecklin, Kaily Palmer and husband Luke, Taylor Stoecklin and his fiancée Anna Borys, Tyson Stoecklin, John Michael Hill, and Ali Hill and her fiancé Dylan Pirnat; five great grandchildren, John David Hendricks, Anna Grace Hendricks, Michael Hendricks, Rajya Brownlow, and Hazel Brownlow; and brother, Dr. Roger Hendricks and his wife Pamela of Herrin.
John is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Herrin with Rev. Michael Neubert officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the church. A private family inurnment will be at a later time at Rosehill Cemetery in Marion.
