Obituary for Tony L. Kerrigan

Tony Kerrigan, 80, of Herrin, passed away 10:01 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Herrin Hospital in Herrin.

Tony worked for Norge and Maytag for 35 years and retired from the Paint Department in 1998.

Tony was born September 20, 1936 in Herrin, IL to Howard Paul, Sr. and Nellie Mae (Ridings) Kerrigan.

Tony was married to Lora Dolores Ferrell on September 28, 1956 in Marion, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Dee Kerrigan of Herrin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve L. (Marge) Kerrigan of Marion, Ricky L. (Marilyn) Kerrigan of Mulkeytown; four grandchildren, Monica Norton of Herrin, Bradley Joe (Kelsie) Kerrigan of Mulkeytown, Ricky (Susan) Kerrigan II of Mulkeytown, Steve L. Kerrigan, Jr. of Marion; one great grandson, Jakob Kerrigan; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Charlotte Kerrigan of Freeman Spur and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jesse Wayne “Tater” Kerrigan, Howard Paul “Babe” Kerrigan, Kirby Kerrigan; infant sister, Carol Ann Kerrigan and a nephew, Jarrod Bennett.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested and may be made to the Angelina Foundation, c/o Debby Choate, 7570 Grassy Road, Carbondale, IL 62902.
