Obituary for Wanda June Jackson

Wanda June Jackson, 79, of Energy, passed away 4:54 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Herrin Hospital.

Wanda formerly owned and operated Wanda’s Alterations and Sewing in Energy.
She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy.

Wanda was born March 2, 1938 in Herrin, IL to Charles Albert and Hazel (Yates) Bailey.

Wanda was united in marriage with Robert E. Jackson on June 16, 1956 in West Frankfort, IL.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Robert “Bob” Jackson of Energy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Randy Wagley of Oakland, TN, Alisa and Tony Gualdoni of Energy; seven grandchildren, Casey Tapp, Chris Tapp, Robert Earl (Cookie) Jackson III, Lauren (Eric) Orbesen, Tyler Jackson, Nicole (Mike) Helsley, Spencer Gualdoni; six great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Lorraine Phillips of Rantoul, Charles and Verla Bailey of Herrin, Jim and Gayla Bailey of Tunnel Hill; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alice Crawford of Herrin, Debbie and Steve Hutchens of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Jackson, Jr.; parents and a brother, Raymond E. Bailey

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home with Rev. David Dyer officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family prefers memorial donations made to the Alzheimers Association, 320 East Walnut, Suite A, Carbondale, IL 62901 or to Lone Oak Baptist Church, 809 Ryan Drive, Energy, IL 62933; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
