Lavada Branca, 88, of Herrin, died 12:02 a.m. Friday, April 03, 2009 at the Herrin Hospital in Herrin.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Michael Tetmeyer will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Carterville. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The preferred form of remembrance is for memorials donations be made to the First Pentecostal Church in Herrin, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Mrs. Branca was retired from Norge Industries in Herrin and formerly worked at the Smoler Brothers Garment Factory in Herrin.
She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Herrin and the Ladies Prayer Group at the church.
She was born July 3, 1920 in Chittyville, IL to Thomas Wesley and Phoebe Ann (Profitt) Reynolds.
She was united in marriage with Charles Branca. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are, a son, Phillip D. Reynolds of Herrin; two granddaughters, Bobbi Jo Gurley and her husband, Anthony of West Frankfort, Tracy Ann Struthers of Carterville; six great grandchildren, Khisha Dillow, Kyle Dillow, Brittany Nicholson, Kayla Struthers, Kaitlyn Struthers and Gabriel Struthers; one great great grandson, Shayne Nicholson; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charlie Reynolds of Waterloo, IL, Bill and Dorothy Reynolds of Herrin, Carl and Verna Mae Reynolds of Herrin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Robert Eugene Rollins on June 26, 1966, granddaughter, Kendra Sue Reynolds, nephew, Billy Joe Reynolds and a half sister, Myrtle Staton.
