Terry E. Lively, 80 of Herrin, passed away 3:25 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Michael Henson will officiate. Interment with Military Flag Presentation Ceremony conducted by the IL Army National Guard Honor Detail will be in Blairsville Cemetery at Blairsville, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The preferred form of remembrance is memorial donations made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 North Park Avenue, Herrin, IL 62948, or to Park Avenue Productions, Inc., 321 North 13th Street, Herrin, IL, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Terry retired as the manager of the P. N. Hirsch Store in Herrin.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Herrin and a life-long member and Past President of the Lion's Clubs in Fairfield and Herrin, IL. He enjoyed attending live performances by Park Avenue Productions of Herrin.
He was born December 3, 1928 in Murphysboro, IL to Terry and Carrie
(Gorham) Lively.
Terry was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Jackson on September 11, 1949 in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Lively of Herrin; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Kathy Lively of Herrin; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Bob Brooks of Herrin; four grandchildren, David Lively of Herrin, Elizabeth 'Liz' Estes of Herrin, Kyle Brooks of Herrin and Kendal Brooks of Herrin; two great grandchildren, Gavin and Chance Estes of Herrin; two sisters, Catherine Dillow of Murphysboro and Zeronal Trettor of Murphysboro and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Vera Phillips, Mabel Duke Haney, Mary Smith, Nellie Riggs and Ella Simpson.
