Kathryn 'Kathy' L. Lockwood, 63, of Herrin, passed away 8:45 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Chris Cutsinger officiating. Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the funeral home. The preferred form of remembrance is memorial donations made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lockwood was a retired secretary from General Telephone Company in Marion.
She attended Cornerstone Community Church in Marion. She was also a volunteer for Hospice of Southern Illinois, SIH and the American Cancer Society.
She was born September 28, 1946 in Marion, IL to Charles and Helen Juanita (Trout) Groves.
Surviving are, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin and Heather Williams of Marion, IL, Jeff Williams of Murphysboro, IL; three grandchildren, Samantha Williams, Bailey Williams and Jacob Williams; two sisters, Janet Myott of Johnston City, Diana McNeill of Herrin; aunt and uncle, Susie and Pete Avripas of West Frankfort,; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many special and close friends including, Candy Calcaterra of Herrin, Janice and John Sullins of Lexington, KY, Mary Ann Barnes of Hollywood, CA and Chris and Bob Garrett of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jackie Groves.
