Obituary for Edward William Johnson

Edward William Johnson, 56 of Herrin, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his residence.

Ed was a supervisor and coordinator for Neuro Restorative in Carbondale for 28 years.

Ed was a member of the First Baptist Church in Energy.

Ed was born May 11, 1963 in Herrin, Illinois to Lester Lavern “Bud” and Brenda Sue (Mitchell) Johnson.

Surviving are his mother, daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Jared Diuguid of Benton; two sons, Chad Johnson and Adeena Thornton of Johnston City, Noah Johnson of Herrin; two grandchildren, Cameron and Cooper Diuguid; Brenda Johnson of Herrin; life partner, David Kidd of Herrin; two sisters, Marsha Leeann Johnson of Herrin, Cristina Sue (John) Winstead of Pittsburg and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Denny Bush officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin.
