Obituary for Richard C. Arnold

Richard C. Arnold, 69 of Herrin, passed away 7:45 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his residence.
Richard retired after 21 years as a TSGT from the U.S. Air Force. He was a Flight Simulation Specialist and Analog Navigation, Tactics Training Devices Specialist.
Richard worked for Seimans Nixdorf for 18 years. He retired in 2010 from the State of Illinois Lottery/CMS as an IT Specialist.
Richard was born on December 24, 1947 to Maynard and Evelyn (Greife) Arnold in Washington, Missouri.
Richard first married Shirley Middleton while stationed in Germany in 1972. She preceded him in death on December 3, 2002. He married Patsy Hoover in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 27, 2010. She survives him in Herrin.
Also surviving is his four children; Gary Arnold of Oahu, HI, Brian Arnold, David Arnold, Angela Arnold in Springfield, IL; four step children, Heath P. Steinmetz (Rebekah) of Energy, Tammy Steinmetz Baumgarte of Herrin, Samantha Moultry (Travis) of Enterprise, AL, Marshall Riley (Ngoc) of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Hannah Arnold, Devon Arnold, Jackson Arnold, Jamar Moultry, Jake Baumgarte, Luke Steinmetz, Lavinia Moultry, Zachary Riley, Alexander Riley, and Nicholas Riley; brother, Tom Arnold (Bev) of Hollister, MO; niece and nephew, Becky Allmeroth (Anthony) and Timothy Arnold (Jessica) and their families; and the girls, Teak and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Shirley Arnold.
Richard will be interred at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Military Rites will be provided by Scott Air Force Base Military Honor Detail and Camp Butler VSO.
